Following his defeat by Obi-Wan Kenobi in The Phantom Menace, Darth Maul escapes to the junkyard planet of Lotho Minor, where he builds himself a six-legged mechanical apparatus to survive. He is evenually rescued by his brother, Savage, and recuperates on the planet Dathomir where he is given a pair of robotic legs. Maul and Savage then set about a plan to exact revenge on Obi-Wan.
